David Newton grew up near Quinton in the west of Birmingham. He studied graphic design and illustration in the city before going on to work as a designer for the fire service and university. He also worked for a while as a scenic artist for Walsall Illuminations before going freelance and licensing his images worldwide. He likes creating quirky, colourful paintings featuring iconic Birmingham scenes and also highly decorative artworks inspired by Art Nouveau and Japanese Art.
