Dante Gabriel Rossetti painted eight separate versions of Proserpine, the final version is displayed at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, part of Birmingham Museums.

The Rossetti paintings were originally hung in Charles Augustus Howell's drawing room (English artists' agent and art dealer), all of which Leyland called "stunners."

Proserpine is one of the most recognizable works. The daughter of the goddess Ceres, she was kidnapped by the god of the Underworld, Hades. Her mother pleaded with the god Jupiter to allow Proserpine to return. Jupiter consented with the provision that Proserpine had not eaten any fruit of the Underworld.

The magnet measures 8x5.5 cm.
